Board of Directors, Staging Manager Vacancy
From 5-Piece Rock Bands to 150-Piece Symphony Orchestras, every ensemble needs help. The crews who solve problems backstage when strings break or assemble and transport gear are the true “guitar heroes.” These teams, however, do not MANAGE themselves. Great ensembles have GREAT LEADERS in more places than first chair or the podium. If you have the heart of a LEADER or want to grow into one, this is the opportunity for you!
The SWCW Staging Manager is a volunteer position on the board of directors with duties concentrated around the concert series dates. The Manager will direct volunteers on concert days and oversee transportation of general supplies. Successful candidates will have a valid driver’s license, cell phone, and leadership skills. The candidate should be skilled in following procedures while also examining issues and developing strategies on the fly. She/he should also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with volunteers as though they are valued employees.
